On January 17, 2024, Viettel Post Joint Stock Corporation (Viettel Post) opened Vietnam's first smart sorting technology complex, which is located in a 32,000 square meter warehouse in Quang Minh (Me Linh, Hanoi), equipped with the highest automation technology, including 200 automatic robots in sorting goods (AGV robot), Wheel Sorter Matrix, and Cross-belt Sorter. This has helped Viettel Post increase the level of automation in the goods picking process up to 99%.
With more than 40 export/import gates and nearly 1,200 split gates, this complex is capable of handling up to 1.4 million parcels/day, an increase of 40% compared to the previous one, while reducing the error rate almost zero and shortening delivery time from 8-10 hours to 2-3 hours, increasing output 3.5 times. In addition, the complex also helps reduce the number of personnel by 60%.
The operation management and monitoring system of this complex is implemented through the NOC (Network Operating Center) system, using Digital Twin technology, AI cameras and sensors to track the journey of each order over time, and detect unusual behavior. All systems in Viettel Post's logistics ecosystem are developed by a team of Vietnamese engineers and experts, and completed in more than 6 months, a short time compared to large enterprises in the world that takes about 2 years to implement.
