According to the latest information from the General Department of Customs, from the beginning of the year to May 15, there are 4 groups of exports with a turnover of 10 billion USD or more, including: phones and components; computers, electronic products and components; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts; textile.
In which, phones and components continued to lead with a turnover of 18.47 billion USD, down 19.45% over the same period last year.
The main export markets of this group of goods are: China with USD 4.03 billion, down 14.9% (updated according to the market of the General Department of Customs at the end of April); the United States was 3.13 billion USD, down 28.1%; South Korea was 1.08 billion USD, down 46.2%.
Particularly, the export of this group of goods to the EU reached 2.59 billion USD, up 10.9% over the same period last year.
Computers, electronic products and components ranked second with $17.9 billion, down 8.2% over the same period last year. The largest export market is the United States with USD 4.73 billion, up 5.3%; followed by China with 3.23 billion USD, down 14.9%; EU reached 1.77 billion USD, down 30%; Korea reached 1.62 billion USD, up 20%...
Machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts with $14.51 billion ranked third, down 5.6% over the same period in 2022. The US led the market share with $5.33 billion, down 13.1% ; EU with 1.91 billion USD, up 6.4%; China with $940 million, down 1.8%; Japan with 890 million USD, down 0.9%...
Textile and garment is the last group of "tens of billions of dollars" with $10.89 billion, down 17.44% over the same period last year. The United States is the largest market with USD 4.17 billion, down 30.2%; EU with 1.14 billion USD, down 10.6%; Korea with $ 990 million, down 1.5%...
With 61.77 billion USD, the four major commodity groups mentioned above accounted for 52% of the total export turnover of the country during the same period.
By the end of May 15, Vietnam's total export turnover reached 118.58 billion USD, down 12.8% or 17.47 billion USD compared to the same period in 2022.
